Guidelines for Beach
Driving at Calanga
When driving on the beach, it is essential to adhere to local guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

- Stay on Designated Paths: Always drive on established tracks to minimise environmental impact and protect the delicate ecosystems.
- Respect Wildlife: Be mindful of local wildlife and avoid disturbing animals, especially during nesting seasons.
- Check Tides: Be aware of tidal patterns to avoid getting stuck in soft sand or being caught by rising waters.
- Drive with Caution: Sand can be unpredictable; maintain a steady speed and avoid sudden stops or sharp turns.
- Environmental Responsibility: Practice “Leave No Trace” principles by removing all litter and minimising your footprint on the beach.
- Donโt collect shells, coral, or turtle eggs
Removing natural elements is illegal and threatens biodiversity. Itโs also disrespectful to traditional coastal communities. - Donโt disturb turtle nesting sites or hatchlings
Mozambique is a nesting site for endangered turtles. Never walk on marked nesting zones, shine lights at hatchlings, or touch them. - Donโt play loud music
Sound travels far in open spaces and can disrupt nesting birds, animals, and fellow visitors seeking quiet nature experiences.
